Intermodal Terminal Subsystem Technology Selection Using Integrated Fuzzy MCDM Model

Intermodal transportation is the use of multiple modes transportation, which can lead to greater sustainability by reducing environmental impact and traffic congestion increasing efficiency supply chains. One preconditions for efficient intermodal transport terminal (IT). ITs allow smooth handling cargo, thus time, cost, transportation. Adequate selection subsystem technologies significantly improve productivity an IT, ultimately leading cost savings businesses a more sustainable system. Accordingly, this paper aims establish framework evaluation appropriate IT subsystems. To solve defined problem, innovative hybrid multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) model, combines fuzzy factor relationship (FFARE) combinative distance-based assessment (FCODAS) methods, developed in paper. The FFARE method used obtaining criteria weights, while FCODAS final ranking alternatives. established model are tested on real-life case study, evaluating selecting technology planned IT. study defines 12 potential variants equipment based their techno-operational characteristics evaluates them using 16 criteria. results indicate that best variant one uses rail-mounted gantry crane trans-shipment reach stacker horizontal storage. also point conclusion instead choosing each process separately, it important think about combination different work together complete series cycle processes. main contributions development new establishment along with set unique selection.
